Pipe Clamps
In most instances, pipe clamps work by fixing securely around the pipe and suspending it from a surface or rail system. They simply lock around the pipe to clamp it in place so that it is secured. Pipe Clamp is can function in a single clamp, holding the pipe to the ground or it can be in a set with two pieces half clamps securing the pipe. Pipe clamps are designed in both Grip and Non-Grip purpose.
Grip or Anchor clamp is used when the pipe requires a tight clamping to restrict all movements. You can see in the image below how there is no gap between the pipe and the inner surface of the clamp.
Non-Grip or Saddle / guide clamp: used when it is desirable to have a looser fit to allow some movement. Movement could be thermal or mechanical (perhaps a vibration). Below is a representative image showing a gap between the pipe and the clamp.
Pipe clamps were referenced by the size of the pipe they were clamping. An engineer would ask for a pipe clamp for a 50 nominal bore pipe.
In Lian Seng Hardware, we can customized all kinds of pipe clamp is various sizes ranging from ½” to 36” and material like carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, etc.
